Resume

Prof. Marek Sykora studied human medicine at Comenius University Bratislava and Vrije Universiteit Brussels in Belgium. Completed his specialist training (neurology and neurointensive care) and habilitation at the Dept. of Neurology, University of Heidelberg in Germany. He holds a PhD in neuroscience and a MSc from the European Master of Stroke Medicine Program. Scientific fellowships included stays in the Brain Physics Lab at the University of Cambridge, UK. His scientific interests are mainly the autonomic nervous system, intracerebral haemorrhage, multimodal neuromonitoring and stroke. Since 2013 he serves as director of the Comprehensive stroke center/Neurointensive care at the Department of Neurology, St John’s Hospital Vienna, Austria.
