As a result of the FWF-funded research project “Theory, practice and consequences of operational psychology” at the Sigmund Freud Private University Berlin, a traveling exhibition was presented for the first time in January 2024 in the former rooms of the Law School (now the University of Potsdam), which presents the emergence and development of psychology in the secret service of the Ministry for State Security of the GDR in the form of ten posters. The exhibition, produced in cooperation with the graphic artist Michael Marte, illustrates the contemporary historical context of operational psychology using historical photographs, exemplary files, interrogation protocols, quotes and accompanying texts on GDR history. QR codes can be used to listen to excerpts from interviews with those affected and to trace the biographies of those affected by political repressive measures. If you have any questions about the exhibition, please contact the project manager Martin Wieser at martin.wieser@sfu-berlin.de.
